Each week, Todd selects a new, weird website.
For the week beginning January 18, 2000 the selection is:
![]() |
||
| . | "At this moment
(October 1999), Robotiforms have not (to my knowledge) progressed to the
point at which it is possible to inflict cruelty as such upon them. My
understanding of cruelty is that it is subjective from the point of view
of the "victim". It is not possible to be cruel to a piece of furniture
despite any "cruel intentions" on the part of the aggressor, as the furniture
has no awareness. Likewise, is it not possible (at the present) to be cruel
to a Robot.
"However, in the future I fully expect Artificial Creatures to be capable of perceiving cruelty and experiencing suffering, and it is with that development in mind that the ASPCR invites discussion, opinion, and suggestions towards establishing a standard of human conduct and behavior with respect to Sentient Robotiforms." |
| Wouldn't it be great to get PAID for sitting there looking at these weird websites? |
